A Study of the Cannibalistic Tendencies of Apples and Oranges

I have been trying not to put up multiple images but, again, reading about how almost all contemporary photographers work in series of images and because I felt that each of these emphasized an element the others did not, I could not resist putting up these four images.



As objects which are so essential to the still life tradition I wanted to recast them and present them in a new light. Upon beginning to play with the fruit, I was pleasantly surprised by their resemblance to both the human form and head and the iconic pac-man. I tried to use the lighting (and shadows) in these images to dramatize the feeling of questionable activity by the fruit and further humanize their characters.
These pictures, I suppose, only prove that apples and oranges really don't mix.

Just a note on the image below.
Isn't it beautiful how the color disintegrates into that red fog of light around the edge of th apple!
