An amazing outdoor venue that has the potential to be used for a plethora of outdoor events. The drive here is even more awesome! It's like a roller coaster, especially if you're doing ~80mph down Gaffey. Upon arriving and entering the gate, you're whisked away to the far east. What's that up ahead? Yup, a gigantic bell enshrined in a pagoda type structure. It's a sight to see. As you park and start walking towards it, you feel the gentle (sometimes rough) breeze blowing past. I couldn't help but imagine I was in lower South Korea on a cliff side looking east into the Pacific Ocean. What a great piece of land and beautiful scenery. Let me share some ways to maximize your visit. *Great place to bring kids - there's a playground and sloped grassy areas which they can run around until they pass out. *Take photos with your fancy DSLR camera - lots of photo ops of the ocean, the bell, kids (your own I hope, not someone elses) running around the grass and under the bell ropes, and some historic spots where gun turrets used to be. *Bring Food - there's not much around... and that way you can enjoy a nice picnic in the large park. *Basketball court - only one, but it's seen in many movies and commercials. Beautiful to play almost over a cliff. In addition, be prepared to walk to the restroom. It's within the park, but it's not close to the bell. There is also a Coca-Cola vending machine here, in case you need water or a soda. Enjoy your trip to this historic location in San Pedro.
