There are a lot of amazingly trendy things that continually pop up in the "wedding scene" that some feel is cliche or outdated. What I enjoy about these well used ideas is that they have an amazing way of reinventing themselves into more exciting and interesting ideas! A few years ago, two good friends of ours tied the knot at The Bel Air Bay Club over Labor Day weekend. The bride, Larissa, is one of those amazing people who just notices all the details, which showed in every moment of their wedding. The groom, Justin, has a heart full of gold, which shows when he looks at her. (Check out Larissa's latest new adventure here). One of the MANY things I loved from their wedding was the photo booth that they had in which guests got to take pictures, take home a copy as a momento, and leave one for their personal memory book! Needless to say, we spent much time in the photo booth that evening.
Next up was our friend Dan and Jen (check out her blog here) who got married in the BEAUTIFUL Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. Now they took the photo booth and put a little twist on it. They set up a "back drop" and had a photographer with a bag of tricks (wigs, glasses, boas, etc) standing by to take your picture! They also had a photographer roaming around with a polaroid camera so you could add a picture to their memory book. Here is a little sneak peak of what those pictures turned out to look like:
Secret Service always provided at a Frosty Johnson Affair!
Most messed up band EVER!
Fast forward to TD and my big day and I of course MUST have a photo booth because:
a) How easy to make these your "gifts" and "memory book" without much hassle?
b) People LOVE this kind of stuff and how could you not?
c) I paid way too much money as a kid for those gosh darn pictures at malls
that I should definitely have one to use for "free" at my wedding!
I did some investigating and thanks to my fairy god planner, I found a company that fit the bill! We decided to go with Sassybooths because they not only provided a copy of all of our images directly onto our thumb drive the night of the wedding, but they also had 30 second video confessionals where guests could give a "SHOUT OUT" to the bride and groom! Sassybooths can customize your booth for your wedding colors and for a little extra will put together your memory book AND bring props! Unfortunately for us, the video camera component broke on the way to our wedding so we were only left with the images but they credited me back the difference with absolutely no hassle, which was much appreciated.
Here is the photo evidence of that evening!
Warning...some pictures are just way too amazing for words. Just so you know...
Cheers!
