En Foco Portfolio Review
September 25, 2010

This En Foco Portfolio Review offers one-on-one reviews with several arts professionals on the same day, in a supportive, nurturing and affordable environment. Reviewers can advise about opportunities and/or provide guidance on career development. This is an outstanding opportunity for ALL photographers to have their work critiqued by curators, editors, educators and other arts organizations.

Whether you're ready for Chelsea galleries, or just looking for feedback and advice, we have reviewers to suit all needs - you just have to be serious about your craft (call if you have questions). In between sessions, you'll be able to relax in the photographer's creative lounge and share your work with peers.

This workshop is only available to current En Foco Members (All are welcome to join). Each review session lasts for 20 minutes; photographers are guaranteed a minimum of three reviews and receive a 'gift bag.' Upon registration, participants will receive an article written by photo marketing expert Mary Virginia Swanson, on how to best prepare themselves for the Review. Spicy Gumbo Photo Workshop
May 20 - 24, 2010 • Breaux Bridge, Louisiana

This WORKSHOP is for intermediate to advanced photographers wishing to immerse themselves in the art of visual story telling through traditional photography and creative audio narrative. Under the guidance of master photographers, Debbie Fleming Caffery and Carlan Tapp, participants will have this rare opportunity to work deep in the heart of Lousiana’s Cajun Country. Based out of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana (crawfish capitol of the world) the workshop will explore the Bayou’s people, landscape, tradition, food and music.

Living in the shadow of the nation’s dirtiest power plants the Dine´ People suffer from respiratory disease and cancer from the pollution laden air, soil, and water. Question of Power
Coal: The social cost of Electricity in America

Carlan Tapp began his photo essay Question of Power in 2005. His project uses traditional photographic documentary techniques of reportage, portraiture, and landscapes, with the addition of recorded audio interviews. Question of Power are stories and voices of individuals, families, and communities affected by the mining, processing, burning, and storage of waste materials created by coal for this generation of electricity in America.
