To Whom It May Concern,
Dear Gem!!,
Thank you for signing in. I'm thrilled to have you as a member!
It seems that so many ladies in blog-land are having 'guy trouble' lately. In my opinion,'guy trouble' is just part of life. I'm starting to see why homosexuality is so popular! The fact is, men and women are so vastly different, it's a wonder we ever get together at all. Still, we do and it's dysfunctional, as is the way of all things! I don't know, perhaps that's the sign that we're on the right track. If you love each other madly and want to kill each other at the same time, you're doing it right!? Maybe. For those of you who enjoy a good rant, I dedicate these poems to you.
These poems are taken from collection of poetry by Dorothy Parker, the title of which is Enough Rope.
DE PROFUNDIS
Oh, is it, then, Utopian
To hope that I might meet a man
Who'll not relate, in accents suave,
The tales of girls he used to have?
These poems were first published in 1926, sadly, where certain men are concerned, the subject matter still rings true. Thankfully, not all men are the same. The good news is that men, like good wine, get better with age. There's something to be said for a man of experience and in my opinion a little age difference goes long way! Take it from me, slightly older guys may have a few grey hairs, but it's what separates the men from the boys!
Sincerely,
Cinnamon Brown.

MEN
They hail you as their morning star
Because you are the way you are.
If you return the sentiment,
They'll try to make you different;
And once they have you, safe and sound,
They want to change you all around.
Your moods and ways they put a curse on;
They'd make of you another person.
They cannot let you go your gait;
They influence and educate.
They'd alter all that they admired.
They make me sick, they make me tired.
They hail you as their morning star
Because you are the way you are.
If you return the sentiment,
They'll try to make you different;
And once they have you, safe and sound,
They want to change you all around.
Your moods and ways they put a curse on;
They'd make of you another person.
They cannot let you go your gait;
They influence and educate.
They'd alter all that they admired.
They make me sick, they make me tired.
GENERAL REVIEW OF THE SEX SITUATION
Woman wants monogamy;
Man delights in novelty.
Love is woman's moon and sun;
Man has other forms of fun.
Woman lives but in her lord;
Count to ten, and man is bored.
With this the gist and sum of it,
What earthly good can come of it?
